DESCRIPTION:4th European Taiko Conference 21st – 24th February 2019\, Hamburg\, Germany \nThe Conference is all about “developing the community who are developing the art form”. The format will be similar to this year’s European Taiko Conference: workshops with international taiko players\, performances\, presentations\, discussions\, and socialising over shared meals. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn about taiko generally\, European taiko specifically\, and to meet new taiko friends\, and old. \nEnglish is the principal language of the Conference\, but we will make every effort to facilitate understanding and active participation of those for whom English is not the first language. \nFind out more at www.eurotaiko.org

SUMMARY:Olivia Grandville & Zuihô Daiko
DESCRIPTION:S’inspirant des mouvements très graphiques des percussionnistes japonais Zuihô Daiko\, Olivia Grandville\, chorégraphe associée au lieu unique\, et le danseur Aurélien Desclozeaux\, son complice de longue date\, proposent une lecture dansée de cette musique traditionnelle. \nCréé à la fin des années 80 sous la forme d’un club de loisirs proposant à des personnes handicapées mentales d’apprendre à jouer du tambour traditionnel japonais\, l’ensemble des Zuihô Daiko exerce depuis 2001 une véritable activité professionnelle. Aujourd’hui\, ces artistes donnent une centaine de performances par an\, au Japon mais également à l’étranger\, et participent activement à des ateliers et actions sociales. Le public a eu le plaisir de les découvrir à Nantes à l’automne 2017\, dans le cadre de l’événement Nantes<>Japon pour lequel ils avaient donné une série de concerts mémorables dans la ville. Avec comme point de départ un voyage au Japon pour s’imprégner de la gestuelle et de l’énergie débordante des percussionnistes\, Olivia Grandville et Aurélien Desclozeaux imagineront un concert chorégraphié qui mêlera leurs esthétiques à celle des Zuihô Daiko.
